How to use the hoof trimming box most effectively
An efficient way to guide cows through a de-hoofing box is for the cow entering to follow behind the one leaving. The sideways opening of the front door means that the box is quickly ready for the next animal, so work can continue without unnecessary stops.
The hydraulic system is equipped with a tuned 4 kW motor and an 18 cm³ pump. The box has 400 V inlet and 400 V outlet as well as 1 or 2 pcs. 230 V cable clamp. In the middle of the box the width is narrowed to 700 mm, as cows are generally calmer when the space is reduced at the sides and front doors.

How does a claw trimming box work in practice?
This hoof trimming box is equipped with a new type of foreleg holder, where the leg is mechanically rotated in and held. The solution comes with either manual or hydraulic foreleg lock. The system is pulled into place with a cylinder equipped with a cord, which also holds the foreleg holder in the locked position.
The advantage of this design is that the hoof trimmer can work upright without having to get under the animal, which reduces the risk of kicks and improves work safety. There are adjustment options for both extension and lifting height, depending on whether one or both front legs are pulled up.
The hind leg holder is flexible with double attachment for better fixation and to protect the animal’s joints. The tailgate has hydraulically variable length, so the hind leg is positioned the same regardless of the animal’s position. The hind legs are pulled up with cylinders and cord on plastic rollers, and the hoof supports are constructed with a heavy-duty shaft, rack and cylinder that require minimal maintenance.
A hydraulic traction wheel can be purchased as an optional extra. Of course, claw blades are also available.
